Covid-19 and Flu Vaccination Campaign
From 3rd October 2024, we will be starting our adult flu vaccinations for those who are eligible, alongside the COVID-19 vaccinations. Here’s what you need to know:
Our Flu and Covid-19 Clinics:
- Locations: We will prioritise our in-house clinics at Buckhurst Way and Station Road, Loughton, to maximise capacity during the first few weeks.
- Walk-In Clinics: If needed, walk-in clinics will be organised after the initial two-week period.
- Care Home and Housebound Patients: After this, our focus will shift to vaccinating patients in care homes and those who are housebound.
Important Dates:
- Flu and COVID-19 Campaign Start Date: 3rd October 2024.
- Target Completion for Vaccinations: 20th December 2024.
- Outreach Activities for COVID-19: These will continue until 31st January 2025 to ensure we reach underserved communities.
- Flu Vaccination Availability: Until 31st March 2025.
Why the Timing? The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has advised that starting flu vaccinations later in the year helps ensure optimal protection as the flu season progresses. We will be co-administering both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines to eligible groups.
Who is Eligible? Please refer to your GP practice or the NHS website to check if you are eligible for the flu or COVID-19 vaccine.
